The Ace offers plenty of features and functionalities that are packed within a solid design. It's main selling point is the dual-mode CDMA/GSM capabilities that it offers. With this feature, the Samsung Ace is pretty much assured of having a loyal fan base.

Let's us explore this PDA"s physical attributes first. The Ace presents a very familiar QWERTY equipped block form factor like its predecessors in Samsung's PDA line up. It's dimensions are 118mm x 59mm x 12mm (4.6" x 2.3" x .5") which makes it taller than most devices offered by Samsung. It's camera is nestled in a a 4mm bulge located at the back of the handset. It weighs in at 113g (4.0oz) which is relatively lighter than other similar devices.

The Ace has a typical Samsung smartphone keyboard and has large dual sided keys . Some critics observes that the designed is much improved when compared to the ones used on older models. A scroll wheel located on the handset's right edge, near the covered microSD card slot provides users the ability to scroll.

Let's move on to the smart phone's functionalities. The Samsung Ace offers a speakerphone function that performs well according to users. However, many critics were not satisfied with the sound quality even though the sounds produced are clear enough to be understood.

Cell phone critics praised the Samsung Ace for having a good contacts system that allows users to store all sorts of data. The smartphone's QWERTY keyboard makes contact searching easy. Users can simply by type names from the standby screen to search for contacts. it also offers a good profiles system that includes an automatic mode. This mode allows users to change between the normal and meeting profiles depending on calendar schedule.

Since the Ace is an an EV-DO device, speedy downloads over Sprint's CDMA network is one of its capabilities. It can be used as a laptop modem using Bluetooth or USB connection with the help of of its Windows Mobile Internet Sharing application available. The package includes a USB cable for this purpose.

Users may not be able to store a lot in the device's relatively limited 20MB of internal storage space. Fortunately, it can be augmented with microSD memory cards to provide more storage space. However, the handset's microSD slot Ace does not support the newer, high capacity cards.

The Samsung ace offers a 1.3 megapixel camera but it lacks the resolution found on other smartphone cameras. Nevertheless, it is capable of taking a decent photo and offers a good user interface. Users can adjust the settings from the typical white balance and resolution controls to a self timer and a configurable shutter sound. Users can also switch the camera into video mode and record memorable video clips.

The info suggest that the Samsung Ace is a decent smart phone. It offers good features and have been described as reliable. It does have its shortcomings like the camera and a below average battery life as observed by some users. If you want to see or learn more about this device then you can check out this video review.
